Simplify our holidays

This last couple of months I have been receiving more advertising than ever in my mail account. All about  holiday sales, discounts, gift ideas and so on, seriously, I have got to the point that I don’t even read most of my mail because I already know is junk.

I do realize that exchanging gifts is a really nice part of Christmas holidays, but with all the consumerist craziness sometimes we get overwhelmed about what to give to others and how much to spend on Christmas gifts, either if they are for someone else or ourselves.

In this post I’d like to suggest to you a small list of DIY Christmas gift ideas that I found nice and inexpensive and this year I ask to all my readers to re-adjust our balance between the real meaning of Christmas and consumerism and simplify our holidays and our life. Let’s be grateful for what we already have and enjoy this seasons with the people we love J

Estos últimos meses he recibido más publicidad de la cuenta en mi correo. Obviamente toda es referente a descuentos y promociones de la temporada Navideña, tanta que he llegado al punto de no leer la mayoría de mis correos al saber que casi siempre es basura.

Creo que una parte importante de la navidad es recibir y dar regalos a las personas que apreciamos, pero toda esta locura del consumismo nos hace preocuparnos por lo que regalaremos o cuanto gastaremos en ello más de la cuenta, ya sea para alguien más o para nosotros mismos.

En este post les comparto algunas ideas de regalos navideños hechos a mano y muy baratos y también sugiero a todos los que leen mi blog que este año hagamos balanza entre el verdadero significado de la Navidad y el consumismo, simplifiquemos nuestros festejos y al mismo tiempo nuestra vida siendo agradecidos por lo que ya tenemos y disfrutándolo en esta temporada con la gente que amamos J

Hello everyone, I’m back over here instead of doing laundry. This little break ended up being totally intentional. I’m a bit more stable in this new life I have now, and I feel ready to keep blogging after getting used to the new, new place, new neighborhood, new schedule and new things to do, I just realized how much my life have changed this last year. Getting engaged, graduation from college and getting married got me overwhelmed sometimes and I have to admit that I have had good days and bad days, so I had to establish some priorities and work on my life this last month before getting back blogging. Here, some inspiration of my favorites for this season. See you soon!

Hola a todos, estoy de vuelta. El pequeño break que tomé acabó siendo totalmente intencional y ahora que estoy más estable y acostumbrada a todo lo nuevo de mi vida vuelvo con un nuevo post.  Hace poco me dí cuenta de los muchos cambios que han sucedido este año, entre ellos, estar comprometida, graduarme de la universidad y casarme. Tengo que aceptar que no todos los días son buenos y apenas empiezo a acostumbrarme, así que desconectarme me ayudó a establecer mis prioridades y organizarme un poco. Hello everyone! Starting the weekend with more inspiration, same color palette from lasts posts but this time I wanted to share with you the work of a talented interior stylist from Stockholm, LottaAgaton. Since I’ve been reading some interior design magazines and blogs I found out about her and instantly felt in love with her style, bright and minimalist yet warm and comfortable feeling spaces.  Hope you like it, happy weekend!

This is getting more real every single day, the serious wedding countdown already started, and I can’t believe that the big day is just around the corner. I’m so very excited and focused on the near future that sometimes I forget about the present; I need to enjoy every second before the wedding and realize that all this preparation time is just perfect at the moment. So, by now, opening wedding presents and looking for interior inspiration makes me really happy. Thanks for reading!

La cuenta regresiva en serio ya empezó, las cosas empiezan a parecer reales y no puedo creer que el gran día ya esté a la vuelta de la esquina. Estoy tan emocionada y enfocada en lo que viene a futuro (nueva casa, decoración y esta nueva etapa en nuestras vidas) que a veces me olvido de disfrutar el presente; pero caigo en cuenta que toda esta preparación es justo lo que necesitamos ahora. Hace más de un mes que no hacía un nuevo post, me desconecté por completo del blog debido a proyectos finales, exámenes y el comienzo de mis prácticas profesionales, lo cual me emociona mucho. Pero aquí estoy ya de vuelta y estoy segura de que las vacaciones como empiezan se acabaran porque el tiempo se me ha pasado volando en mi intento de mantenerme distraída, haciendo todo lo de “La Lista”, que estoy segura no me alcanzará el tiempo ni para hacer la mitad. Aquí, las fotografías de una reciente sesión a la que fui invitada por la increíble diseñadora Estefanie Sainz, dueña de un showroom ubicado en el centro de la ciudad, muchoTUgusto. Las fotografías las tomó la talentosa Rox de Luna y al mismo tiempo fue invitada Ella, otra blogger que se ha vuelto de mis favoritas. La sesión fue muy divertida y aquí está el resultado. More than a month without posting, I was totally disconnected from the blog because of my final projects, exams and the beginning of my internship. But here I am, enjoying my vacations and my blog that is yours as well, I’m sure time is flying so I have been trying to keep myself distracted by doing everything from “The List”, but sometimes it seems impossible. Here, photographs of a recent photoshot that I was invited to by the amazing fashion designer Estefanie Sainz, owner of a showroom located on downtown, muchoTUgusto. The photographs by the talented Rox de Luna, also, another blogger was invited, Ella, who has become one of my favorite bloggers. The session was fun and here is the result. You Are A Tourist

Se ha vuelto costumbre hacer las nuevas entradas cada Domingo, y me pone muy contenta leer cada uno de los comentarios que recibo, y aun más encontrar que tengo nuevos seguidores. Como lo he mencionado ya un millón de veces, lo disfruto infinitamente pero no sería lo mismo sin los buenos comentarios. Hoy, empezando semana de vacaciones, y ya con algunas ideas para próximas fotografías que pronto podrán ver y comentar.
Por ahora, fotografías que para mí son inspiración mientras escucho música y pienso de todo un poco. Pasar por algo nuevo siempre te hace pensar muchas cosas, pero muchas veces, creo yo, es mejor no pensar mucho y disfrutar cada instante sea cual sea, hagas lo que hagas y con quien estés, aunque siempre habrá esas ciertas personas que lo hacen más fácil, y sin querer con ellas te das cuenta que por unos segundos (o más) has dejado de pensar, si es que es posible.

I’m getting used to make the new post every Sunday, and it makes me really happy reading every comment, as well as finding new followers. I have mentioned before, I love creating every single post but it wouldn’t be the same without the nice comments I read. I’m starting a week with some ideas for future photographs that I’m posting for you later.
For now, these photos are inspiration for me as I listen to music and think a little bit of everything. Going through something new always makes us think a lot, sometimes I feel that it's good not to think too much and enjoy every single moment, whatever you are doing, wherever you are, but there will always be some people that make it easy for us, and suddenly when we are with them, we realize that for a few seconds (or more) we have stopped thinking, if possible.

Nunca me canso de navegar en internet, me declaro adicta. Cada vez que encuentro algo nuevo en algún blog me emociono y al instante investigo todo a cerca de ello, hoy domingo, en uno de los blogs que sigo y que me encanta (Delusion’s) leí a cerca de una trilogía de cortometrajes de moda llamados “Derviches in Space”, los cuales captaron toda mi atención. El director de este proyecto se llama Cristian Straub y ha hecho filmes de moda, cortometrajes, comerciales entre otros. A mí, me fascinó su trabajo.

I never get tired of surfing the web, I’m an addict. When I find something new in a blog I get excited and I research everything about it, today, in one of the blogs I follow and I love (Delusion's) I read about a fashion films trilogy called “Dervishes in Space ", which caught my attention. The director of this project is called Cristian Straub and he has made some fashion films, commercials and more. I was fascinated with his work.

Cada vez que te topas con una fotografía te remonta a un millón de recuerdos y es como ver alguna escena de tu propia película con todo y música de fondo algunas veces. Es por eso que me encanta vagar por las carpetas de fotografías de vez en cuando, si no es que muy seguido, acompañada de buena música y un café. Las fotografías de este post es de una sesión que realicé hace unos días, con la ayuda de mi prima y mejor amiga llevamos a cabo un concepto, parte de un proyecto de mi clase de fotografía. Hay experiencias que es bueno revivir de vez en cuando. El soundtrack: Waters of Eden del bajista Tony Levin.

Every time you found a photograph it brings you memories and it’s like watching a scene from your own movie, even sometimes with a soundtrack included. That's why I love exploring through folders of photographs from time to time, listening good music and with coffee in hand. The photographs in this post are from a few days ago, with help of my cousin and also my best friend, created a concept for my photography course. There are some experiences that need to be revived from time to time. Soundtrack: Waters of Eden by Tony Levin.

Me encanta encontrar imágenes que me mueven a seguir investigando sobre ellas, hoy martes me encontré con una fotografía que me gusto mucho y al buscar el trabajo de la fotógrafa no dude en mostrárselo a ustedes. Sophie van der Perre es su nombre y estas fueron algunas de mis favoritas. El título del post se debe a la canción que escucho mientras hago este post, Pink Floyd de nuevo. Muy felíz martes.
